I could see my father just one last time just to say I love you

That I became a perfect husband, and my kids were healthy and not in pain

I had my dream job with a fat bank account and was the driver of my own vehicle.

If only...

I had an assurance that tomorrow will be a better day. That the love, joy and happiness that I longed for was just around the corner.

Hope was the foundation of the world we knew.

Joy was a plague like the coronavirus, and peace a disease like cancer

Knowledge was worth more than silver and gold,

Love was sacred and endless as the seas.

If Only...

Miracles were seen more than daylight,

Never was replaced with forever,

Our eyes could see through the dark of the night,

Passion lived in us more than ever.

Questions were answered, and answers were questioned,

Roses were pure and without thorns,

Sadness received only love and affection,

The empty soul was filled with purpose.

We never had to say goodbye to a loved one,

Sickness and pain was a thing of the past,

Nations would live as one and war a forgotten past.

Life was like the final touches on a beautiful painting created with much love.

At the final stroke of the brush the picture becomes as clear as day and the destination of a purposeful life appears filed with love peace and joy.
