Encouragement Without Borders

One of my favourite ways to relax and switch off from a day’s work is to see what happens in people’s lives around me on social media. Well, that is how I met lovely Cindy. We started chatting online and realised that we share several interests. One is our faith, and also we both love crocheting. Cindy has kindly agreed to share more about herself so that through her others can be encouraged too.

Here is what Cindy shared with me…

I started crocheting last year. It was during a difficult time of loss in more than one way. Sadly, I lost my cousin to Covid19, my friends to an accident and disease, and on top of all this my new job abroad… that I had to let go of. Not to mention, I experienced many family issues as well. During this time of overwhelming sadness, I was feeling down, stressed and discouraged. I started to experience feelings of isolation too. I needed something positive to fill my thoughts and emotions. Being a creative person, it was only natural to find an artistic outlet for me.

Crochet became my form of stress therapy. I actually had been thinking to learn to crochet a few years before, but didn't get time and motivation to start. Now I take it as a blessing in disguise. I have explored crocheting key rings, soft toys, special cards, earrings and many more. Most of these projects I have posted on my Instagram page. I wonder which one will be your favourite.

Picking up crochet has helped me focus and motivate me to explore my creativity. Through doing this, God has reminded me to be still and to know that He is God. Be still even in the hardest time. Be Still and know that He is God. (Psalm 45:10)

He still me through the heart of art. This is how my art name "Stillmehart" was born.

One of my goals is that 'Stillmehart' page can reach more people, bring joy, motivate and inspire them with some encouragements I put inside.

Through every stitch in her crocheting, she reminds herself of how we are lovingly created by our Creator on Heaven.
